S harkTooth is a web application development framework and user interface tookit for PHP5 (.Net and Java version are also in development) that provides GUI development functionality more commonly seen in desktop programming languages (Java Swing, SWT). SharkTooth SDK removes the need for developers to develop cross-language (HTML/JavaScript/PHP) page-based applications and instead provides a framework and widget library that empowers developers to deliver complex event-driven object-oriented application intefaces with ease.

Why and For What? Quite simply because we (Flignet) will need a next-gen replacement for our ageing Arkhon web framework over the next year or so. Customers are expecting more from their web experience especially with regards web based applications. SharkTooth SDK is our solution, a fully AJAX driven framework and window toolkit that allows users to easily deliver functionality that would be considered almost impossible using traditional methods. Our primary goal is to provide a framework and window toolkit that enables users at all levels to rapidly develop robust and complex web applications without having to write a single line of HTML or Javascript.

SharkTooth is Open Source SharkTooth SDK is released under a dual license. SharkTooth GPL is available under the terms of the GPL and is designed for non-commercial, open-source or educational use. The professional version SharkTooth Pro includes additional features and support and is only available under a commercial license..
